What To Expect When You Arrive
Our intent is for you to feel welcome and relaxed. Please park in the parking lot just behind, or on the west side of our building. If there is not room, we have 2-hour parking on the street, just east of our building. You may enter our building through either the front or the back door. If you have not already filled out your intake information, (which we can email to you), we will have it on one of the chairs in the large reception area. Our intake takes 10 – 15 minutes to fill out.
Our building has two restrooms along the hallway. The one nearest the reception area is for men or women and is handicap accessible. The one closer to the back door is for woman. In addition to the drinking fountain, we do our best to have bottled water for you in our office.
Once you have filled out our intake forms, just go to our office, which is directly across from the chairs in the reception area. There is internal signage to help you locate it. If our office door is closed, it may be that we are finishing up with another client. Please wait for no more than 5 minutes after your scheduled time, then knock on our office door if we haven’t yet come out to greet you.
Once we do meet you and invite you into our office, we will answer any preliminary questions you have prior to starting. Remember, everything is confidential, with some exceptions which we will review with you.
Because restoring balance and contentment in your life is a process, which may take time, commitment and some financial investment on your part, it is best not to have unrealistic expectations. Most people do feel that their lives improve through counseling. Thank you for taking the time to read this. We look forward to working with you.
